Practice guide

Make the most of Voxcept

A guide to practice, your library, progress, and local backups.

Start with one idea

Draw a concept, then begin research. Read from sources you choose. When you are ready, close the tabs and explain the idea aloud. Voxcept provides a timer, not a recording or an AI assessment.

Make the timing work for you

Open Settings to change research, explanation, and draw durations. During practice you can pause the timer or choose Go untimed. A three-minute introduction is available before your first completed practice.

Choose your material

Use the library in Settings to search concepts, enable or pause categories, and add your own concepts. Editions offer smaller selections. Your reading queue associates a source with an idea to practise later. After completing a practice, Synthesis Draw can invite you to connect it with another idea.

Understand your progress

History records completed practice. The four self-checks ask whether you can explain an idea plainly, describe its mechanism, give an example, and name its limits. Progress levels reflect distinct concepts and domain coverage. A Folio is a personal practice record, not a credential or proof of mastery.

Keep a backup

In Settings, export a backup before clearing browser data or moving devices. Import that file on the other device. There is no cloud account or automatic sync. Resetting saved data requires confirmation.

When you are offline

After a successful online visit, cached practice files may remain available on this device. External research links need a connection. Browser storage can be cleared or evicted, so offline access is not a substitute for exporting your data.
